How Important Is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) important! Ranking higher than your competitors on Bing, Google and other search engines is highly important.  80% of the time a potential client will go to one of these online sources before picking up a phone book or YellowBook to search for what they are looking for.  Here are a few keys to search engine success and how you can rank higher than your competitors.

In our recent article, How To Rank Higher Than Your Competitors, we discussed a few areas where your business should be marketing on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.  These three areas play a key role in how your business listing will rank when being searched.  Are you working on your search engine rank on a weekly basis?  Do you have questions on how we can help your business?

Local Search Marketing can take a new business in the area from being unknown to the front page of a Google search.  Implementing the correct keywords into your blog posts, naming the images on your website with proper alt text and descriptions, updating page content frequently, and building out local search listings are key steps to improving your search engine rank.

Social Media Marketing sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube are constantly some of the highest organic ranking search results when a potential client searches specific keywords.  As a business or a digital agency, it is very important to build out your Social Media profiles to include as much information requested by the Social Media site.  Also, post updates weekly to these sites so search engines will keep your business relevant amongst your competition.

Online Marketing services such as Google Adwords or ReachLocal can also assist your search engine optimization.  These areas would be considered paid marketing rank where the other listings are referred to as organic rank.  As I mentioned in the last blog article concerning marketing budgets, be sure to allocate a certain amount to digital marketing early in 2013 or structure your business to include this at least by the fourth quarter.

Should there be questions we can assist with for your search engine rank, online marketing or website design needs, give us a call or send an e-mail and we’ll help you get on the right track to increasing your inbound marketing traffic!
