Neglecting Your Own Content

Neglecting your own content while working on client projects is easy. As I look back at the last blog post date April 11, I notice a bit more than a month has passed since our website update.  Slight SEO updates have been made along with social media posts during this time, but blogging is king for generating referrals and traffic.  Here are a few tips to keeping up with your website content while staying productive with client projects.

Establish A Posting Schedule
On your calendar, post reminders for adding new content to your website and social media accounts.  Be sure you develop a strategy for staggering days and times for posting the updates along with the type of content you are writing about.  Example:  Post one week on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule and the next on a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday.  Set different times of the day for each of these posts along with post content such as either writing about Marketing, Design, and Sales.  Try not to write about the same topic for more than two consecutive posts unless you are following a series.

Automate Your Posts
With WordPress, Facebook, or a third-party marketing software such as HootSuite, you can establish days and times for your content to automatically post.  One thing to be aware of would be how your accounts are connected.  Example:  If you have WordPress connected to your Facebook account, you would not want the same content posting to post duplicate content in the same ending place.

Delegate Posts To Multiple Authors
In developing your marketing strategy, assign tasks to your team.  This should give you an abundance of content depending upon the number of team members you have.  Example:  Give them a little homework for the week to write a few articles on company products, services or industry news.  Just be sure they are not writing on the same subjects unless they have varying plans of attack for the articles.

Outsource A Consulting Company
This is where we come in.  We will assist in not only developing your content marketing strategy, but establish the posts and updates for you so you can focus your time on what you do best.  Our main goal here is keep you and your company cost effective in their day-to-day activities.  Example:  If your company has delegated tasks to your team and they are covered up with company work, we can provide that additional effort you need.
